Job Details

We are looking for a skilled Service Manager to assist the General Manager, manage customer relations and repair schedules and ensure accurate record keeping. Candidates will have excellent customer service and communication skills, in person and over the phone, possess the ability to multitask and maintain several ongoing projects. Automotive service writing or sales experience is preferred, knowledge of Automotive systems is a must.

Duties of a service writer involve developing cost estimates for automotive repairs using multiple resources or systems. When a customer requests a repair, the service writer orders the needed parts, estimates, and allocates the correct amount of time needed for the repair, and schedules the appropriate technician for the job based on the customer and their repair needs. The Service Manager will prepare and present the customer with an accurate quote for the needed repairs. The service writer will also be the primary contact and representative for the business to the customers.

 Responsibilities

· Maintain excellent Customer Relations with customers in waiting area.

· Provide accurate estimates (parts cost and labor) for a repair or maintenance job

· Maintain accurate records, invoices, and basic shop supplies

· Order parts, track deliveries for approved repairs

· Maintain accurate service and Vehicle records

· Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use

· Identify sales opportunities with local fleet accounts and retail customers

· Prepare daily payment ledger and verify deposits at close of business

· Manage Auto Air of Macon staff

 Requirements

· Knowledge of vehicles mechanical and HVAC systems

· Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

· Willingness to observe all safety policies and precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

· High school diploma or GED is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship in Automotive program is also preferred

· Valid Georgia Driver’s License required

· Any automotive certifications (ASE, 609, etc. is a plus)
