The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices for the Human Resource department. Supports human resources operations, focusing on high-volume recruitment, employee relations and safety compliance.
This is a full-time onsite role that requires an 8?hour schedule, including core hours from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. (five days per week). Must be willing to work outside normal business hours including occasional nights and weekends.
Key responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for team member inquiries, supporting the full recruitment cycle, facilitating onboarding programs, providing guidance to supervisors on team member performance, partnering with the benefits team for leave of absence and disability requests, coordinating special events and team member recognition programs, cultivating positive work relationships, maintaining accurate human resources files, and performing additional duties as assigned.
The work environment is a plant setting with wet/slippery floors, varying degrees of temperatures with an average temperature of 40 degrees in the production area. Team members will be exposed to raw and/or cooked meat products and moving equipment and will be required to follow all Food Safety Quality requirements.
Physical demands include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, walking, standing for extended periods of time, repetitive use of hands/arms, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds and infrequently up to 50 pounds, exposure to the odor and possible contact with food products, spices, and sauces. Team members are requested to visually inspect equipment and/or product.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent work experience, 3+ years of HR experience, 1+ years of HR experience working in a manufacturing environment, advanced proficiency in MS Office and HR information systems, experience participating in high-volume staffing, proven experience as an HR generalist with a strong foundation in HR theory, practices, employee development, employee relations, and employment law, strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality, and ability to organize and prioritize in a multitasking environment.
Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in Human Resources Management, 5+ years of HR experience, and demonstrated HR generalist experience in organizations with 250+ employees.
