Join Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, and become part of a dynamic, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients-while making a meaningful impact on our communities and the world through the projects we help bring to life.Position Summary: An intern supports the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesAssist senior or lead engineers, project managers, designers with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout supportHelp prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phasesSupport the creation of presentation and marketing materialsAssist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawingsFollow established quality control procedures and ask questions as neededLearn and apply department and company standards and best practicesDevelop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experienceParticipate in team meetings and collaborate with team membersReceive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leadersCollaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team membersNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedFamiliarity in using standard Microsoft Office for document creation and email communicationAbility to prepare well organized, clear, and concise written materialsAbility to support work with attention to detail and creativityDeveloping presentation skills, including communicating ideas to different groupsAbility to manage time and workload effectively with guidance from supervisorsStrong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate well with othersFull-time student currently pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in engineeringPreferred ExperienceCoursework in a related fieldPrevious internship or relevant work experienceFamiliarity with design and production software, with the ability to use these tools to develop project documents and collaborate with project team membersWorking ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
