We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Zoning Inspector to join our Client's team and help ensure that land use and development projects comply with local zoning laws, building codes, and public health standards. Duties

• Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to verify adherence to zoning ordinances, building codes, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations where applicable
• Review project plans and permit applications to ensure compliance with local zoning laws and public health requirements
• Document inspection findings through detailed report writing and maintain accurate records for regulatory reporting purposes
• Collaborate with construction teams to address violations or safety concerns promptly, providing guidance on corrective actions
• Enforce zoning regulations by issuing notices of violation, citations, or stop-work orders when necessary
• Participate in public hearings or community meetings to explain zoning policies and resolve compliance issues
• Stay current on evolving regulations related to construction, public health, OSHA standards, and FDA regulations to ensure ongoing compliance management

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction inspection, regulatory compliance, or a related field with a strong understanding of zoning laws and building codes
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and FDA regulations relevant to construction or public health environments
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to prepare clear documentation for regulatory reporting
• Strong understanding of compliance management practices within urban development or construction projects
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including contractors, developers, and government officials
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple inspections and documentation tasks simultaneously
• Valid certification in OSHA safety standards is preferred; additional certifications in construction or regulatory compliance are a plus
