The primary purpose of this position is to execute contingency, mobility, war planning, and related training functions for the 78th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Deployment and Distribution Flight. The Deployment and Distribution Flight is responsible for all contingency planning and deployments from Robins AFB.
The squadron's flights provide overall direction for base logistics processes related to vehicles, cargo and passenger movement, supply, equipment, fuels, munitions, personal property, deployment planning and operations, support agreements, war reserve materiel (WRM), and when appropriate, logistics plans for the 78th Air Base Wing, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, and over 30 associate units. The squadron's strategic goals are to support the war fighter, develop its people, and provide the most cost effective, timely and flexible logistics support possible.

Additional Position Requirements:
The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft and/or changes in duty hours to meet mission requirements.
Position requires 24-hour on-call availability and is subject to long hours and short notice change of shifts.

Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
