Role Overview

The Operations Lead is a dynamic, self-motivated professional who will support the development and ongoing operation of a bond administration application. This role involves maintaining bond payment models, troubleshooting bond payment discrepancies, and providing requirements for application defects and enhancements.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in the Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer and maintain deal-level payment rules used to calculate multi-class securitization factors and payments
• Onboard new securities and deals to support bond administration, bond disclosures, and IRS tax calculations/reporting
• Troubleshoot bond payment differences and investigate root causes across models and systems
• Participate in regular status meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to identify and implement process and system improvements
• Develop queries, analyses, and reports for operations and management teams, or provide specifications for reports to be built by others
• Lead and/or participate in testing, validation, and acceptance of new platform functionality

• Strong data reporting and analytics background
• Solid Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) knowledge
• Strong analytical and technical skillset, including:

  • Advanced Excel formulas and functions
  • VBA and/or C++ (preferred)

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, a technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience
• At least 3 years of direct experience in the Mortgage-Backed Securities industry
• Strong knowledge of MBS and the housing finance industry

• Experience with Intex or similar bond analytics / cash flow modeling software
• Experience working in cross-functional teams supporting financial systems or fintech platforms
