Maintenance Support Squadron performs scheduling, planning, and metrology support for all Precision Measurement Equipment Lab (PMEL) and Physical Sciences operations. Performs contract surveillance (quality and production management) for PMEL contracts.
DUTY 1: (35%)- Knowledge and experience in the recurring manufacture, overhaul, or repair of products or projects using multiple process production methods and procedures to develop information necessary for the control of a complex product.
DUTY 2: (25%)- Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics related objectives.
DUTY 3: (20%)- Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals.
DUTY 4: (20%)- Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise.
RECRUITMENT, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (KSA)
1. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and or strategic sourcing.
2. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
3. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirement for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
4. Ability to communication effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolved difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, and operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
