We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media and Public Relations Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing & Communications division.

The Social Media and Public Relations Marketing Specialist is a full-time position with a full benefits package that starts on day one.

The Opportunity: This position will report to the Director, Public Relations and Communications, supporting the strategy and implementation of the corporate social media program. The Social Media and PR Specialist drives member benefit value and brand awareness by developing and implementing social media marketing strategies and campaigns and supports public relations efforts to advance the company's business goals. This role requires strategic thinking, innovation, communications technology skills, creativity, collaboration, organizational skills, and a passion for data and insights.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and Implement Enterprise-wide Social Media Strategy
    • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
    • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals.
    • Generate (collaborating with marketing counterparts), edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news).
    • Monitor, analyze, and communicate social media results to PR director.
    • Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency.
    • Develop campaign-specific strategies to enhance impact with targeted audiences, including C-Suite, association members and other industry stakeholders.
    • Develop personalized social media strategy for CEO and other company influencers to raise awareness of current company initiatives, new and existing research and solutions to advance the company's business goals.
    • Build/develop relationships with member company counterparts to learn their priorities, enhance engagement, and share best practices.
  • Support PR Strategy to Build Greater Awareness and Engagement with the Media
    • Manage PR collateral for conferences, including drafting and coordinating press releases, developing and implementing social media campaign strategies, and outreach to reporters and other external audiences.
    • Research new media opportunities, including podcasts, webinars and non-traditional outlets, as well as monitoring traditional media outlets to ensure new reporters/editors are identified and contacted.
    • Supports PR Director on all company initiatives, including creation of internal and external documents and work products, drafting press materials, talking points, and tool kits.
    • Supports the Public Relations team in the implementation of LIMRA and LOMA programs, priorities, and projects in partnership with PR director and marketing colleagues.
    • Maintain an excellent working relationship with the PR & Marketing teams, working collaboratively to exceed customer expectations for the department and keeping the team informed of all marketing efforts (status of campaigns in development, results of completed campaigns, etc.).
    • Understand and execute PR & marketing processes (approvals, web updates, email development, timelines, etc. and make suggestions for improvements).


What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree required; marketing or business degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a business-to-business environment.
  • Experience with building and executing social media marketing strategies.
  • Insurance or financial services experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated creativity and proven track record of developing innovation and creative social media and communications campaigns.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet daily and long-term deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills with attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to listen and influence others throughout the organization.
  • Ability to function and act independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellence in collaboration. Works well in a team environment and interacts effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must have strong analytical skills to effectively assess and communicate metrics.
  • Open and responsive to constructive feedback.
