Job Description
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Logistics Assistant (Contract) based in our office in Macon, GA. Alternatively, the role may be based out of Dieppe, NB, Jamestown, ND, Toronto, ON, or Montreal, QC, depending on the candidate's location. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "Can Do" attitude. This is a contract role for 6 months.

- Set load and delivery appointments for trucking shipments
- Interface with Logistics Planners, Customers, Shippers and Receivers to meet business needs
- Trade Management System: Update loading and delivery times requested by customers/receivers
- Monitor and vet appointment change requests and document accordingly
- Use Customer Delivery Status Portals
- Monitor and cleanup of missing information relating to system issues on daily management dashboards
- Education Required: High School Diploma
- Years of Transportation Experience Required: 0 to 2 years
- Exceptional Customer service skills
- Able to work within a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to multi-task in order to ensure that the customers, carriers and teammate needs are met in a timely fashion
- Willingness to learn
- Communication, Organizational and Time Management Skills
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Applications
- Mercury Gate or general Transportation Management System (TMS) experience is an asset
