Job Summary
This part-time student position supports the Office of Student Life on either the Macon or Cochran campus by assisting the Assistant Director for Engagement and Service in the planning, coordination, and implementation of campus programs. The role focuses on student engagement, community service initiatives, and provides support for Greek Life oversight. Responsibilities include helping with event logistics, promotional efforts, service project coordination, and light administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
* Assist with planning, setup, and on-site support for campus engagement activities, service events, and student involvement initiatives (both indoor and outdoor)
* Support the coordination and promotion of community service projects and volunteer opportunities
* Provide assistance with Greek Life communications, tracking event attendance, and supporting organization-led events as needed
* Conduct regular checks of campus spaces such as the Commuter Lounge and Georgia Hall to ensure cleanliness, equipment storage, and security.
* Help identify potential service partners and projects within the local community and on campus
* Report any broken, missing, or damaged items in student-use areas to the Assistant Director
* Serve as a primary point of communication for Alternative Break trips, including sharing trip details with interested students, managing logistics, and assisting with participant preparation
* Monitor and maintain campus bulletin boards by removing outdated materials and posting current flyers
* Help update and maintain the Knight Life portal with event listings and relevant service opportunities
* Promote Student Life programs by tabling, posting flyers, or sharing digital content
* Attend trainings, meetings, and campus events as assigned
* Represent Middle Georgia State University and the Office of Student Life with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to student engagement
Required Qualifications
* Minimum GPA of 2.5
* Currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours, 12 credit hours preferably.
* Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
* Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
