Description:

We are partnered with a leading HVAC services provider to help them hire an experienced HVAC Service Technician for their Macon-based team. This is an opportunity for a seasoned tech to work on large-scale systems in critical environments with a company that values independence, expertise, and customer satisfaction.

As an HVAC Service Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for diagnosing and repairing complex HVAC systems across hospitals, universities, distribution centers, and more. From chillers and boilers to VRFs and building controls, you'll handle a diverse range of systems with autonomy and precisionkeeping essential operations running smoothly.

This role ensures comfort, compliance, and continuity by combining deep technical knowledge with proactive service and a strong customer-first mindset.



Background



Great candidates may come from:




  • Commercial HVAC service backgrounds (7+ years)

  • Service-heavy environments like hospitals, schools, or manufacturing facilities

  • Roles requiring diagnosis and repair of systems 15+ tons in size

  • Trade schools or military training in mechanical or refrigeration systems



What You'll Do




  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment

  • Service large systems (15 tons+), including VRF, VFD, mini-splits, RTUs, chillers, and boilers

  • Complete preventative maintenance on large PM contracts (5+ units)

  • Replace or repair system components, controls, and electrical parts

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all service activities

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and coordinate with dispatch

  • Deliver top-tier communication and service to clients and internal teams

  • Participate in on-call rotations and handle emergency calls as needed



Skills and Competencies



Required:




  • 7+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service

  • EPA Certification

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Experience with chillers, boilers, VRF systems, and large-scale HVAC units



Desired:




  • OSHA 10 or 30 certified

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications

  • Trade school or technical certifications

  • Experience mentoring junior techs or apprentices

  • Familiarity with service reporting tools and light computer work
