CD&D Specification Technologist - Forsyth, MO
Job Summary
* The Specification Technologist assists in the activation of new formula quotes ula change quotes into active formulas and associated in-process and finished good item codes within site ERP systems by creating draft specifications detailing the formula and package quote design or requested change. This position liaisons with Quality, Lab, CD&D / Product Development, and Operations site colleagues as necessary to determine appropriate initial testing codes assigned to the spec for physical, in-process, and lab tests. The Specification Technologist will assist in the management of raw material qualification processes assigned to CD&D as well as initiate setup of new raw material or component item codes and associated system and customer-facing specification documents.
* This position is responsible for assisting in Sales/Customer/Internal support regarding raw materials, formulas, prototypes, finished goods, and other CD&D-responsible interface.
Job Responsibilities
* Collaborate with technical staff in development of new products.
* Assist in technical and physical aspects of raw material evaluation as necessary for CD&D (may require working with dietary supplement raw materials, blends, in process dosage forms, or finished dosage forms).
* Assist in creation of quote estimate and formal quote documents as needed.
* Assisting in initiation of ERP system change controls and associated documentation for the set up of new raw material item codes, new formulas ula changes, and associated in-process and finished good item codes.
* Initiate ERP system specifications and customer-facing specification document drafts (to be approved and finalized by Quality upon finalization of product setup).
* Assist or develop prototype samples for internal testing or customer requests, as needed.
* Plan, coordinate, request, and conduct testing research to support product development efforts (may require working with CD&D lab or CD&D pilot equipment).
* Assist in technical research, including physical and online services, as needed.
* Assist or write technical reports, protocols, rationales, and presentations, as needed.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) with a major in biology, botany, chemistry, nutrition, food science, or related mathematical or similar technical field, or the equivalent of experience.
* Two or more years of experience in spec creation in Quality, Lab, or CD&D similar roles.
* Experience in the supplement industry is preferred.
