Major Responsibilities
- Manages financial operating budget for equipment inventories valued between $99 million and $275 million.
- Oversees more than eight Biomedical and/or Imaging service FTEs. Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for the Clinical Engineering program.
- Collaborates with clinical, operational, and medical staff to improve operations and resource management.
- Identifies and escalates issues, communicating actionable recommendations to relevant leaders for quick resolution.
- Designs and directs the work of the team(s). Selects, coaches, and develops team(s). Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
- May develop and/or recommend operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.

Associate degree in Technology or related field.

Work Experience
Five years of clinical engineering experience in a hospital or similar setting, leading teams, strong data analysis skills, basic financial budgeting knowledge, and familiarity with regulatory standards for patient care equipment maintenance.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong human relations and analytical skills. Self-driven with the capability to schedule, organize, and manage staff independently.
Proficient in translating technical analysis for management reporting, communicating with organization and vendor executives, hospital teams, and caregivers, and problem-solving using information from various sources.
Understanding of hospital operations related to patient care equipment and urgency in managing service events.
Skilled in Microsoft Office and document preparation for analysis.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory, accreditation, codes, and standards.
Efficient in time and resource management in a complex environment with multiple dependencies and tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
Requires local and regional travel, so the incumbent will be exposed to road and weather conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the duties of the job.

$43.30 - $64.95

Oversees and executes the Medical Equipment Management Plan, covering all aspects of Clinical Engineering for one or more healthcare facilities. Acts as the primary liaison between assigned Advocate Health entities and Clinical Engineering at the market, regional, and enterprise levels. Supervises designated staff to guarantee timely, high-quality, and cost-efficient support for all medical equipment within the Clinical Engineering service scope, ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulatory and accreditation standards. Engages in or supports continuous quality improvement initiatives at both departmental and hospital levels. Enhances patient safety by promoting the correct use, application, and operational performance of patient care equipment.
