Design and implement human resources programs and procedures, including but not limited to payroll, risk management, 401(k) administration, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, training and health and safety programs.
Responsibilities
Implement and communicate human resources programs, policies and procedures. Responsible for overseeing general employment practices in accordance with corporate guidelines and applicable state and federal laws. Responsible for recruitment and staffing for hourly and salaried positions. Conduct new employee orientations. Provide support in such matters as disciplining, coaching, counseling and termination of employees. Conduct workplace investigations. Responsible for implementing various positive employee relations initiatives. Establish and maintain department records, including personnel files. Responsible for risk management, including but not limited to worker's compensation. Responsible for processing payroll and administering PTO program. Serve as the Safety Coordinator on the Central Safety & Health Committee and take an active role in maintaining OSHA compliance. Maintaining employee benefits to include negotiating open enrollment contracts. Perform 401-k maintenance duties, signing employees up, making changes, assisting with loans etc. Work with all levels of management in supporting HR initiatives. Responsible for recommending training initiatives and conducting employee training. Create, update and maintain job descriptions. Maintaining petty cash. Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Safety and health is a line management responsibility and should be managed on a day to day routine basis. Responsible for planning all company activities (picnics, lunches, Christmas party, etc.) Responsible for all insurance renewals to include: Property, Umbrella, Cyber, Auto, Worker's Comp, etc.)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an HR-related work environment, preferably in manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of HR laws, concepts, practices, and procedures. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
