Description:

Robert Half HR Solutions is currently partnering with a client in the Macon, GA area that is looking to add an HR Manager to their team. The HR Manager will oversee all HR functions for a manufacturing plant with approximately 100 employees. As the sole HR professional at the site, you will play a strategic and operational role in supporting leadership, employees, and business objectives. This includes leading efforts in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, engagement, performance management, compliance, succession planning, safety initiatives, and workers' compensation.


Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Develop and execute local recruiting strategies to attract top talent.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, offer negotiation, and candidate selection.
  • Lead onboarding efforts to ensure new employees are set up for success.


Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, addressing workforce concerns and resolving workplace conflicts professionally and efficiently.
  • Foster an inclusive and productive workplace atmosphere through policy enforcement and consistent communication.


Employee Engagement:

  • Design and implement programs to boost employee engagement, morale, and retention.
  • Conduct surveys and analyses to gauge employee satisfaction and improve work conditions.


Performance Management:

  • Guide managers through performance evaluation processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coach and support employees in their individual development plans and career growth.


Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and provide reporting as required.


Succession Planning:

  • Collaborate with management to identify and develop future leaders within the plant.
  • Create action plans to build bench strength and address skills gaps.


Safety and Workers' Compensation:

  • Manage and promote workplace safety programs, ensuring OSHA standards are met.
  • Oversee workers' compensation claims and coordinate actions with insurance providers.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred; HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, laws, and best practices, including recruitment, compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Proficiency with UKG a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with employees across all levels.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
