A Store Manager ensures customer satisfaction and employee development, while operating an efficient and profitable business within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain an in-store sales-building culture that ensures growth through execution of merchandising programs, weekly sales plans, sales themes, stock conditions, and sales meetings.
• Provide high levels of customer satisfaction, courtesy, and service, especially at the front-end.
• Achieve budgeted financial results.
• Protect company assets: merchandise, cash, facilities, and equipment. Conduct weekly audits and manage shrink programs.
• Control store expenses, including wages.
• Handle staffing needs: forecasting, recruiting, training, and developing talent.
• Set clear performance expectations, hold staff accountable, and conduct performance reviews.
• Conduct regular store walks to monitor conditions.
• Train and develop management team, especially co-managers, to support growth.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Create a positive store environment with effective supervision and recognition.
• Communicate effectively with district management, support staff, and employees.
• Ensure store compliance with company standards and legal regulations.
• Maintain a safe environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 3-4 years of progressive supermarket management experience.
