Job Details:
Mercer Athletic Foundation (MAF) is searching for an Assistant Director of Athletic Development.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director's primary role is to assist with cultivation and fundraising efforts for the Mercer Athletic Foundation (MAF). The Assistant Director will solicit financial contributions within and outside Middle Georgia. They will aid in the planning, organization, and implementation of the Athletic Annual Fund campaign. Additionally, the Assistant Director will work under direct supervision of the Executive Director of the MAF on Bear Plus (preferred seating/parking program for football/basketball) and 400 Fund (named current use scholarship program) programming.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and one year of prior experience, which must include working with people in direct sales experience, higher education development experience, activities where relationship building is essential, and/or other related business experiences, are required.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others in order to build relationships.
2. Ability to plan and organize meetings and other events in order to successfully engage alumni and friends of the University.
3. Ability to write or edit proposals, letters and articles for the purpose of soliciting gifts and providing written information to constituents.
4. Basic knowledge of work processing and spreadsheet applications for analysis and preparation of reports and correspondence.
5. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends to facilitate cultivation of constituents.
6. Ability to multi-task in order to achieve goals in a timely manner.
7. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
