SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:
Under the direction of the Program for Exceptional Children supports staff in developing tiered interventions for students who do not master grade level standards or IEP goals. Builds the capacity of teachers and staff working with students with disabilities in a collaborative effort to meet student learning goals/objectives. Ensures teachers working with students with disabilities acquire the understanding and skills to implement best practices and instructional strategies.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Masters degree required
2. Minimum five (5) years of effective classroom co-teaching experience at the middle grades level; three (3) or more years of recent classroom experience providing instruction in special education or providing educational services to students with disabilities in a general education setting.
3. Valid Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education or related services field of Special Education; Reading or Math Endorsement preferred
