SA Recycling is looking for a Welder who may travel to support our Georgia Region. Welder will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a metal recycling shredder along with rail car repair and other metal recycling equipment as needed. The welder will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials, using the appropriate equipment.
The welder must be competent in using welding equipment; follow all established safety precautions; have the ability to work odd angles; have a steady hand and a great attention to detail. Knowledge of different metals and their properties is also highly desired.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF WELDER

• Performs repair and maintenance assignments for a metal recycling shredder and other industrial equipment.
• Welds various steel components with ARC and MIG welding equipment.
• Cut, trim, fit and fabricate metal components to fit specific dimensions.
• Perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts.
• Maintains accurate records of all work performed.
• Work from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS OF A WELDER

• Must have a working cell phone, a valid Driver's License and own transportation
• Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential qualification.
• Must pass a background check, medical physical, and drug test.
• Certified Welder preferred and understand their capabilities and limitations.
• experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials.
• Recycling industry experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of welding fabrication tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards.
• Ability to safely work at varying heights, in tight quarters, and varying positions.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands.
