Job Description Summary
Ensure that Grounds Division crew members effectively and efficiently perform tasks related to maintaining and improving the Facility grounds and adhere to the defined maintenance schedule.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Plan, oversee, and assist the crews in efforts to plant, trim, spray, mow, weed, fertilize, sweep, rake, cultivate, dig, water, shovel or plow snow, remove ice, spread salt and/or sand.
•Ensure that various types of equipment are properly operated, and maintained including power mowers, saws, edger, and shears.
•Operate light or medium weight trucks to pick up and deliver materials and supplies.
•Operate tractors and attachments used to maintain grounds as needed.
•Load and unload furniture and other materials, transport to designated locations, utilizing a variety of equipment as needed.
•Monitor relevant material inventories and replenish as needed to maximize productivity.
•Effectively utilize all resources available, delegate duties as needed and verify satisfactory completion of assigned tasks.
•Remain up-to-date and informed as to current practices of job-related functions.
•Work with other people that may be contacted in an agreeable manner.
•Cooperate with other people within the department and other department personnel in completing assigned tasks.
•Ensure that work order, timekeeping, and daily report documentation are completed within accepted timeframes.
•Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with department policies and procedures.
•Attend department meetings as required.
•Participate in fire and disaster programs as directed.
•Police campus grounds and empty garbage cans as needed
•Assist in irrigation repair
•All other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Good health with adequate strength and endurance to perform the work described in various types of weather.
•Ability to use grounds maintenance tools and equipment as required.
•Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
•Ability to maintain effective relations with the customers, Manager and fellow employees
•Ability to follow and apply safe practices for job assignments and equipment used.
•Ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
•Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
•Willing to be trained as required.
